July 2008

July was the month of the mohawk.

For the 4th of July, Colton and I went to the Ranch to visit his parents, and of course, Colton decided to get a mohawk, since there would be family pictures taken. We had fun playing games, eating delicious food, and we saw some amazing fireworks.

The weekend of the 18th, we were once again at the Ranch for the Flake family reunion. There was kind of a small turnout, but we had fun anyway. We went to the Flake Rodeo, which was my very first Rodeo! It was very exciting for me to watch Colton participate in the events, he did very well! Here's a picture of my handsome Cowboy during the "Rescue Race":
The next day we went snake hunting because Colton's friend Eliseo, who joined us for the reunion, had never held a snake. This is what we found:Hmm...not the most flattering picture of any of us, but we were all dressed down. it was Saturday morning! We had a lot of fun. We played softball, had a weenie-roast, rode horses, quads, and played games. It was a very fun weekend.

Not to be outdone by redheaded cowboy/indian brave, I also decided to have some fun with my hair. So then, for MY families picture, we looked like this....Needless to say, between the mohawk and the pink hair, my mom was not quite as thrilled as you might think. But she was a good sport.

It was a busy but fun-filled month, Colton got to baptize Eliseo, we went to the circus, and we were able to spend a lot of time with our families.

And we hardly ever had to eat Corn Flakes.
